Obituary of Todd Evans
Please share a memory of Todd to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Todd Evans of New York, N.Y. passed away peacefully on November 15, 2020. He was 58.
He was the son of Ronald Evans and Elizabeth (Hughson) Evans, born on December 7, 1961 in Liberty, NY.
Our brother and true friend was a compassionate and caring soul. He loved nature and all its creatures his entire life. His love for those creatures eventually led him to a career as an Animal Talent Coordinator in NYC. Whether he was leading camels across the stage with his good friend and colleague Olga Silva at the annual Radio City Christmas Spectacular Show or holding the AFLAC Duck on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, he was central to all creatures great and small who appeared in countless films, commercials and TV series.
As a child, Todd led us on many an adventure exploring wildlife and the wilderness in the Catskill Mountains. His witty sense of humor about everyday life entertained us then, and brings a smile to our face to this day.
Todd enjoyed everything from the simple pleasures as hiking through the forest, spending holidays with family and friends, seeing his brother in Florida, all the way to exploring Peru or visiting wild parrots in the Amazon.
He impacted us with his kind compassion, caring support and witty humor. We are grateful for having had him in our lives.
He was pre-deceased by his mother Elizabeth (Betty) Evans and is survived by his father Ronald Evans and his wife, Roberta, of Swan lake, NY; brother Ray and sister-in-law, Joanne of Kauneonga Lake, NY; brother Rod Evans and sister-in-law, Daphne of Hollywood, FL and many wonderful aunts, cousins, nephews and loving friends and family, including colleagues/co-workers in the animal industry. Also, and not the least of his family is his little longtime canine companion and buddy, Hector.
Services were held at the convenience of the family.
