Ronald James Stecker

Ronald James Stecker, a longtime area resident, passed away on Thursday April 3, 2014 at his home with his loving family at his side. He was 70. The son of the late Edward L. and Eileen Mangan Stecker, he was born on February 28, 1944 in Binghamton, NY.
Ronald was a hardware clerk for Trading Post in Rock Hill, NY. He was a US Navy Veteran serving in Vietnam. He received two bronze stars. He was a volunteer at the Triangle Fire Station and the Hillcrest Fire Station and he was also involved in Prison Ministry for the NYS Prison System.
Survivors include his wife Deborah Blair Stecker at home; son, Danny Smith and his wife Debra of Vestal, NY; brother, Gary Stecker and his wife Minnie of Fort Mills, SC; sisters, Mary "Snookie" Chandler and husband Don of Whitney Point, NY, Ann Bello and husband Francis of Endicott, NY and Theresa Dobb and husband Chuck of Horseheads, NY; two grandchildren Landon and Riley Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Tuesday April 8, 2014 from Noon to 2 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St., Monticello, NY. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home at 2 PM. Burial with Military honors will follow the services at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Rd. Liberty, NY.
