Porter, a lifelong resident of Hurleyville, NY, passed away on Thursday August 27, 2015 at Orange Regional Medical Center. He was 86 years of age. The son of the late Edo and Lula Terwilliger Porter, he was born on September 27, 1928 in Hurleyville, NY. He served his country during the Korean War as a Private First Class in the US Army and he was retired from the US Postal Service, where he worked in the Monticello and Rock Hill Post Offices. Survivors include his wife, Carol Dauch Porter at home; sons, James (Susan) Porter of Greene, NY, Thomas (Andrea) Porter of Manlius, NY and Brian (Shannon) od Swan Lake, NY; daughters, Theresa (Thomas) Case of Manlius, NY and Jill (Gavin) Schwarz of Simsbury, CT; sisters, Eloise Porter of Hurleyville, NY and Dorothy (Walter) Hessinger of Cody, WY; fourteen grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday Sept. 2, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St. Monticello, NY. Funeral services will be held on Thursday Sept. 3 at Ramsay's Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Minton officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow the services at Hurleyville Cemetery, Hurleyville, NY where Clifford will be laid to rest with his parents.
