Obituary of Flossie L. Ware

Home: Monticello, New York USA Place of Birth: Fort Deposit, Alabama USA Obituary Flossie L. Ware Monticello, NY Flossie L. Ware of Monticello, NY, a 52-year resident of the area, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty, NY at the age of 88. The daughter of the late Frank and Avie Robinson, she was born on November 5, 1928 in Fort Deposit, AL. Flossie was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Monticello, NY, serving on the Usher and Missionary Boards. Flossie was known for her dedication in raising a number of family members and her passion for making delicious cakes. She worked various jobs in the area until her illness. Flossie had a heart of gold and will be truly missed. She leaves to cherish her memory two special nephews, Arthur Mack (Bea) and Thomas Walker Jr. (Angelic), both of Monticello; two sisters, Era(Willie) Smith of Liberty and Vera Stubbs of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Lina Robinson of South Carolina and Lily Washington of Montgomery, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, David; her daughter, Corrine; a sister, Vinnie Jones; two brothers, Ellis Perry and Willie Robinson and her nephew, Robert Stubbs whom she raised like a son. A family statement reads, "Don't grieve for me for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me, I took his hand when I heard him call, I turned my back and left it all, I could not stay another day to laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I've found peace at the close of the day." Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10 - 11 AM at the First Baptist Church, 29 Liberty St. Monticello, NY. Funeral services at 11 AM with Rev. James Matthews officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery in Monticello, NY. The family would like to thank the staff at the Sullivan county Adult Care Center for taking great care of our Aunt.
