He was 34 years of age. He was the son of Edwin Velez and Cristina Robles-Pena and was born on January 22, 1981 in Mayugues, Puerto Rico. Edward was a member of the Church of God in Monticello. He is survived by his mother, Cristina Robles Pena of Monticello; his fiance Ann Loucks at home; daughters, Abigail Velez Loucks and Isabella Loucks, both at home; brothers, Rafael and Dalia Melendez of Colorado Springs, Co and Jose Melendez of Monticello; sister, Lourdes Velez of Florida and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Family statements read: From his fiance, Ann Loucks: "My Love, you were taken too soon; your pain now gone; you are whole now in front of Our Lord. You were my life, my soul mate! The six years we had together were some of the best times of my life. The day our daughter was born was one of the happiest days of my life! Thank you for loving me! Sleep in Peace, baby! Until we meet again - wait for me at Heaven's gate." From his daughters, Abby and Bella: "Daddy, we miss you already. Our hearts are full of sadness. We love you so much Daddy! Please watch over us."
