Unsure if this is the correct Sheldon Knepper, who was my teacher in Brighton Beach 1978-1979. Was an inspiring man who I wish I had the opportunity to thank for his patience and tutelage.

Dear Kathy and family,
Michael and I send our warmest condolences to you. We were proud and honored to know Shelly and enjoy his company, warmth and extreme goodness. The expression, LIFE IS GOOD, was key to who he was. And, you were by his side to make sure both of your lives were good.
Love,
Barbara and Michael

Dear Kathy and family, Bill and I send our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I know this is a very sad time for you, but please know that Shelly was well-loved and respected by all who had the honor of knowing him, I know tributes have been pouring in, for Shelly and for you. You were devoted to him, and you complemented each other, beautifully. You both touched many lives, and people’s lives were changed because of the both of you. I wish you peace.

Dear Kathy,
Fred and I send our deepest condolences to you and your family at this very sad time. Shelly was a larger than life and fiercely independent human being; a man I will always remember with admiration and fondness. The years we worked together will always remind me of our mutual joy for teaching. He demanded the best from his students just as he did from himself. Countless of his charges were profoundly changed under his guidance . I have no doubt that many of them will attribute their successes to the days of struggle and laughter spent in his classroom.
Rest in peace, my old friend. May your exuberance for life and your reverence for service to others continue to inspire those of us you leave behind.

Shelley was a very special human being who gave of himself selflessly. He touched the lives of many with his participation in fund raising, costumes, his always happy and smiling disposition. He will be sorely missed, May his memory be a blessing for his wife, children and grandchildren and may he be always in their hearts!!

How fortunate I was to work backstage and meet Shelley. We shared numerous stories about our years of teaching and love of similar music. I loved how he always had a notebook in his pocket to write down any new musicians I’d suggest he needed to hear their music. As I write I’m listening to his favorite YouTube I shared with him: “Playing for Change Ripple”. Give a listen and think of Shelley! May memories bring music in your heart!
