Home: Monticello, New York USA Place of Birth: Monticello, New York USA Obituary Donald Benjamin Monticello, NY Donald Benjamin, a lifelong resident of Monticello, NY, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Valley View Center in Goshen, NY. He was 84. The son of the late Wilbur and Ruth Fritshie Benjamin, he was born on March 4, 1932 in Monticello. Don was owner-operator of Benjamin Excavating in Monticello, NY. He is survived by sons, Chris Hummel and his significant other, Maggie and Donald Benjamin Jr., all of Monticello, NY; daughters, Lisa Benjamin Hummel and her companion Scott of Monticello , Donna Marie Kuhn of Monticello, Susan Brent Starr of Lake worth, FL and Juanita Mihalco of New York State; brother, Richard Benjamin and his wife Viola of Monticello; sister, Sandra Callihan of Monticello; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and his canine kids, Jill, Emma, Jack, Pugslie and Dozer. He was predeceased by his wife, Carol Benjamin and by two brothers, Robert "Bobby" Benjamin and Ernest "Bunky" Benjamin. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St. Monticello. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, November 2 at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Messenger Cemetery in Monticello. Food and drink will be served in Donald's memory at the Rock Hill Fire House directly following the burial.
