Carlson passed away with her family at her side in Palm Coast, FL at the age of 89. Helen was born on April 6, 1927 in Hurleyville, NY to the late Max and Beatrice (Deutsh) Jacobson. She graduated from Hurleyville High School and worked for NY Telephone Co. and Perk's Market in Hurleyville, NY. She was also the co-owner of Anker Sales Wholesale Restaurant Equipment and Supplies in Liberty, NY. Helen was a charter member of both the Hurleyville Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and the Hurleyville Ambulance Corps and she took the first EMT course given in Sullivan County. She is survived by her sister Gail Makofsky of Hurleyville, NY; her son, Mark Carlson and his wife Lorayne of Oxford, NY; her daughters, Toni Carlson McKay of Jeffersonville, NY and Teri Carlson DiMarsico and her husband Tom of Palm Coast, FL; grandchildren, Christopher William Carlson and his partner Charles Calhoun, Jr. of Cumming, GA, Mariann McKay Bury and husband Darren of Narrowsburg, NY, Erica Carlson Payne and husband Charlie of Hurleyville, NY; great-granddaughter, Ariel Pearl Payne of Hurleyville, NY and a large extended family including step-grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her husband William "Bill" G. Carlson; sisters, Rose Cohen, Ann Jacobson and Pearl Kollender; brothers, Julius, Abe and Perk Jacobson and her son-in-law Robert McKay Sr. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 9:00 AM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S.
