Bridget B. Swartt
Bridget B. Swartt passed away on August 18, 2016 at 9:24 AM. She was the devoted daughter of Joseph and Esther Klein and is survived by her older brother Mack Klein and wife Mia Klein of Manhattan; her son, Terry Swartt of Sonoma, CA; her daughter, Sidni Pacilli of Jeffersonville, NY; grandson Louis Pacilli, great-grandson Dean Pacilli and grand-daughter-in-law Claudia R. of Manhattan. Bridget was affectionately called BB by friends and family.
BB was a vibrant woman, passionate about her home in New York City. She frequently went to museums, theater, Lincoln Center and relished the wide diversity of restaurants in her most beloved city. But she also enjoyed world travel and often brought back cultural artifacts from each city visited.
BB laughed often and had a zestful life with a wicked and wry sense of humor. Yet she was an ardent feminist and fiercely independent. She prized her Sunday New York Times Crossword puzzles. She equally had a strong work ethic choosing to work until she was 92 years old followed by her volunteer work. Ever the lady, BB was always stylish and a fond patron of the arts and cared about social issues.
She was a talented artist finding inspiration in people and moments with gallery showings into her mid 90's. She remained active in her community on the Upper West Side of Manhattan where she lived for the last 50 years with many strong friendships. She was passionate about dancing since the 1940's until she was 92 years old and exercised regularly remaining health conscious through her 90s.
Her sense of adventure was never-ending, whether it was a drive across America from California to NY when she was 95 years old or her enthusiasm to move down to Nashville for her twilight years. As a devoted grandmother, she encouraged family to pursue their dreams to find happiness.
BB was beloved and treasured by her family with support and love at home to her last days. She enjoyed the comfort of family pets daily and local outings into the beautiful woods and streams of Jeffersonville, NY. Her candle burned brightly to her very last days where she was alert, funny and gregarious.
