Paul J. Lyden, a longtime Liberty resident, passed away unexpectedly on March 24, 2016 at Halifax Health Medical Center in Daytona Beach, FL. He was 64. He was the son of the late Paul D. and Helen Lyden of Ormond Beach, FL. Paul was born on July 19, 1951 in Newark, NJ.
Paul was retired from the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department. He was a member of Liberty Elks Lodge # 1545, the Livingston Manor Fire Dept. and the Honda Motorcycle Riders Club. He was an avid NASCAR fan and rarely missed watching a race. He loved to ride his motorcycle when the weather permitted.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Debbie Lyden at home; sons Brendon (Lorreyn) of Long Island, NY and Gregory (Danielle) Lyden of Mooresville, NC; his cherished grandchildren, Dyllon, Regan, Gabriella, Alexandria and Aubrey; sisters, Linda Nicol and her children, Timothy, Jason and Brenda of Lakeland, FL and Gail (James) Nesmith and their children, James and Melissa of Webster, FL; brother-in-law, John Clements (Joanne) of Liberty, NY and mother-in-law, Doris Clements of Liberty, NY and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial services will he held on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 2 PM at the Livingston Manor Fire House.
