Obituary of Christine Thompson
Christine Thompson of Monticello, a 46 year resident went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 96 years of age.
She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Rodgers Lymon. She was born January 3, 1922, in McWilliams, Alabama.
Mrs. Thompson was a dedicated member of the former little Grove Holiness Church, where Bishop Thomas E. Ward was the Pastor.
She is survived by her six children Mary (Nathan), Jimmy (Barbara) and Christiana (Jimmie) of Monticello, Fannie (Jessie) of Chattanooga, TN, Roosevelt of Atlanta, and Tommie of Alabama. She has three God children, Pastor Fred Thomas Joseph, Alli and John Merchant, as well as grand Goddaughter, Carolyn Merchant, along with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins and extended family.
She was predeceased by one son Elvin Jake Valree Jr. three sisters Annie, Cora and Queen, two brothers Rascoe and London.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Leidner and all of the staff at the Skilled Nursing Unit at Catskill Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home 55 St. Johns Street, Monticello NY 12701 from 11:00am-12:00pm. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home at 12:00pm with Rev. Grave officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Monticello, NY.
