Obituary of Paul M. Demetry

Demetry Neversink, New York Paul Demetry, a resident of Neversink, NY, passed away at his residence on Saturday July 1, 2017 at the age of 65. Paul was the son of the late John and Mary Liszak Demetry and was born on January 23, 1952 in Bronx, NY. Paul was a graduate of Tri-Valley Central School where he still holds the record for the 100 yard dash. He graduated from Iona College. Paul had a passion for music and played the guitar. He was an avid sportsman, especially playing golf with his friends. Paul enjoyed spending time with friends and family and will be missed by them. Survivors include his sister, Lorraine Petrocelli and her husband Frank of Liberty; brother, Robert Demetry of Warwick, NY; nieces and nephews, Lisa Petrocelli, Frank Petrocelli, Daniel Demetry, Jean Carrick and Sara Demetry; great-nephews Joseph and Benjamin Petrocelli and many longtime friends. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his loving canine companion, Snickers. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday July 15, 2017 at 10:30 A. M. at St. Peter's Church, 264 N. Main St. Liberty, NY. Fr. William Scafidi will officiate. The Demetry family requests that memorial contributions in Paul's name be made to Sullivan County SPCA, PO 995, Rock Hill, NY 12775.
