Darwin E. Bivins, a lifetime area resident, passed away on Saturday December 8, 2012 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 81.
The son of the late Alfred and Florence Cobb Bivins, he was born on May 12, 1931 in Franklin, NY. He was a truck driver for Katz's Bakery in Liberty and was a Korean Conflict Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Russell D. Sprague American Legion Post # 109 in Liberty, NY.
Survivors include his son, Terry Bivins (Linda) of White Sulphur Springs; daughters, Barbara Hotchkin (Donald) of Neversink, Bonnie Norris (Glenn) of White Sulphur Springs and Tammy Wingfield of Mt. Ida, AR; sister, Evelyn Froelich of White Sulphur Springs; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers and one sister.
Visiting hours are today, Wed. Dec. 12, 2012 from 9-10 AM with services at 10 AM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty, NY.
Burial with Military Honors will be held following funeral services at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery in Liberty, NY.
