Obituary
Helen Mae Coleman
Liberty, NY
Helen Mae Coleman went to be with the Lord in the early hours of Tuesday, January 14, 2014, as she journeys into Jehovah's Kingdom. She was born on May 18, 1919 in the district of Pleasant Valley, Clarendon, Jamaica, West Indies.
Mom Estella Elliott gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and the proud mother and father, Percy Coleman, named her Helen Mae Coleman. Helen Mae was popularly called Mae. Helen Mae was schooled in the Pleasant Valley School District. As she started her family, she, at various times, operated the "Country Shop" in the districts of Hayes and Sandy Gully in the parish of Clarendon.
Helen Mae migrated to the USA in 1966 and later became a citizen. She was an independent person and although she lived apart from her family, she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She finally went to live with her youngest son, George "Teddy" Facy and his family in Liberty, NY in 2004. As her health failed, she was admitted to Achieve Rehab & Nursing Center in Liberty, NY.
Miss Mae, as she was affectionately called, had three brothers and two sisters, all of whom are deceased. She is survived by daughters, Patience Wong of Hempstead, NY, Bernadette Charlton of Uniondale, NY and Gloria Williams of Clarendon, Jamaica; sons, Wycliffe of Port St. Lucie, FL, Bradberry of Nashville, TN and George "Teddy" of Liberty, NY. The family wishes to thank everyone for their expressions of sympathy.
