She was 71. The daughter of the late John and Annamae Taylor Travis, she was born on January 21, 1946 in Middletown, NY. Karen was a resident of Sullivan County for the past 20 years and had worked as a seamstress for General Awards in Florida, NY. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 58 years, Howard V. Halstead at home; sons, Timothy (Tanya) Halstead of Lackawaxen, PA and Robert (Dawn) Halstead of South Fallsburg, NY; daughter Elizabeth (Brian) McBeth of Equinox, PA; a daughter-in-law, Vera Halstead of Honesdale, PA; 16 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Karen was predeceased by two sons, William and Michael Halstead; brothers, Joseph and Charles Travis and a sister, Mary Wright. Visiting hours are on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 7-9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 55 St. John St. Monticello, NY. Funeral services will be held at 8 PM at the funeral home.
