Obituary of Dolores Zweck

Home: Youngsville, New York USA Place of Birth: Liberty, New York USA Dolores Zweck Youngsville, NY Dolores Zweck, 85, of Youngsville, NY, passed away peacefully at Achieve Rehab & Nursing Facility in Liberty, NY on Thursday February 5, 2015. Dolores was a lifelong Sullivan County resident and was born on July 31, 1929 in Liberty to the late Raymond Yaun Sr. and Hazel Maus Yaun. She had worked as the Secretary to the Academic Dean at Mt. St. Mary's College in Newburgh for 10 years and then became Executive Secretary at Yaun Co. in Liberty. A member of St. Francis Church in Youngsville, she had served as a Religious Education Teacher at the Church. She was a board member of the Bauernfeind Cemetery in Callicoon and had been a Board Member of the Jeffersonville-Youngsville School District. She had also been a Girl Scout Leader in Youngsville and was currently a member of Twin Village Golf Club in Roscoe, NY. Mom was a blessing to everyone who was fortunate to have known her. Her heart of gold was displayed in her eyes, her smile and her actions. Family near and far was always her priority. She would always put everyone else's needs before her own. She had enormous emotional and physical strength. Although she endured many difficult times in her life, she never faltered for her spiritual strength gave her hope to live life on life's terms. She believed the beauty of the earth was a blessing from God that should always be appreciated. The clouds, sky, sunshine, mountains, trees and phenomenal colors with abundant shades of green were glorious and beautiful. These things were valuable to her heart and soul. She will be truly missed. Dolores is survived by her three children, Robert Zweck and his fiance, Ruth, Thomas Zweck and his wife Rosa and Twila Herbert and her husband Scott Sr.; two sisters, Shirley (Winston) Miller of Pinehurst, NC and Judy (Alfred) Hyzer of Cookville, TN; daughter-in-law, Anita Zweck of Virginia; seven grandchildren, Cindy Smith, Joey, Allison, Ryan and Austin Zweck and Scott and Krysten Herbert; five great-grandchildren, Hayden, Brycen, Colby, Trevor and Luke and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her lifelong friend and neighbor, Susie Soules and lifelong friends, Laureen and Edward McKenna. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Robert Zweck in 1985 and by her brother, Raymond Yaun Jr. a Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday February 13,2015 at 11 AM at St. Francis Church in Youngsville. Burial will be at the Bauernfeind Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave. 7th Floor, New York, NY 10001.
