Obituary of Charles Joseph Becker

Charles "Charlie" J. Becker, of Narrowsburg, passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at home. He was 71.

He was the son of the late Charles Becker and Bridgett Gallagher, born on April 23, 1947 in Brooklyn, New York.

Charlie proudly served our country in the US Navy from 1966-1972. Charlie worked as a telephone installer for AT&T until his retirement. In his free time, Charlie enjoyed shopping for and collecting antiques. He was a history buff and loved building WWII plane models. You could often find him relaxing with a good book, or watching one of his two favorite shows, Game of Thrones and Walking Dead. But every year, he looked forward to his Maine and Florida vacations, which were the highlight of his year. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

He is survived by his wife Joanne Becker; daughters Kristin Becker and Suzanne O'Keeffe and her husband Darragh; grandchildren Ashley, Kayleigh, Saoirse, Fionn, Gabrielle DeLeon, Olivia DeLeon and Anthony Papa; great-granddaughter Heather Papa; and her siblings Peggy Arsenault, Grace Russo and Kevin Becker. He is predeceased by his daughter Bridget DeLeon and his brother Daniel Becker.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 3534 State Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY 12720. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 25th at the funeral home. Rev. Walter Haff will officiate. Interment will follow at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Liberty, NY.
