Obituary of Dorothy A. Breen

Breen, of Liberty, passed away on Monday October 20, 2014 at Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. She was 96 years of age. Born on January 12, 1918 in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Freda Dohrmann Roggenkamp. She was a secretary for Aetna Life Insurance Co. in New York City and was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Liberty, NY. During World War II, Dorothy served in the United States Army as a Stenographer. She rose in rank from PFC to Sergeant. She received several commendations including the Army Commendation Ribbon. Dorothy was a world traveler and on a return trip from England, she met her husband, James Breen. Together, they travelled extensively, including a trip to Australia and New Zealand to visit relatives. Dorothy is survived by her niece, Carol Intemann Contiguglia and her husband, Louis, of Auburn, NY. She was predeceased by her husband, James Breen and her sister, Elsie Roggenkamp Intemann. Visitation will be on Saturday October 25 from 10 - 11 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Liberty, NY. Funeral services will be at the church at 11 AM with Rev. Johanna Andritz officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held at Liberty Cemetery, following the services. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 24 Chestnut St. Liberty, NY 12754.
