Obituary of JoAnn C Shaw

JoAnn C. Shaw, of Smallwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. She was 65.

She was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Filomena Tomasulo, born on January 9, 1953.

She co-owned and operated the utility company, JD Water Co. in Smallwood and also held a real estate agent license.  She was also a member and communicant at St. Peter’s Church.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her devoted husband, whom she married on September 5, 1970 in St. Anthony’s Church in Ozone Park NY, Fredric “Rick” P. Shaw; her children Michelle Atkins and her husband Douglas and Fredric “Rick” Shaw, Jr. and his wife Nicole; her grandchildren, Isabella and Connor Atkins, Benjamin Shaw and Fredric  “Ricky” Shaw, III ; as well as her brother Richard Tomasulo and several nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her daughter Valerie Shaw; and her brothers Vincent and John Tomasulo.

Memorial visitation will be held on Monday, June 18th from 11am to 1pm at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 3534 State Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY 12720.   A mass of the resurrection will be celebrated following the visitation at St. Peter’s Church, 10 Liberty St. Monticello, NY 12701. Father John Tran will officiate.
