Obituary of Cyril J. Smith

(Dick) Smith White Lake, NY Dick Smith of White Lake, N.Y., born July 5, 1920 in Brooklyn, N.Y., died December 21, 2013 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center in Harris, NY. He was the son of the late Cyril T. and Mary Ryan Smith. He was the widower of Mary Pearson Smith. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Madeline Mulvey Pritchard Smith at home; four sons, Richard Smith of Monticello, N.Y., William "Duke" Smith (Cheryl) of Jacksonville, FL., David Smith (Ellen) of White Lake, N.Y., and Donald Smith of Monticello, N.Y.; two daughters, Mary and Janet (Wayne); twenty grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two step-daughters, Barbara Harris of Freeburg, IL., and Bernadette Charlton of Arlington, VA. and one step-son, John Pritchard, of Alexandria, VA. He is also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Enright and Patricia Oakes of Monticello, N.Y. During the Depression, Mr. Smith joined the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) and later worked as a building contractor in Monticello for many years. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 3534 State Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, N.Y. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Monticello, N.Y. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery, Forestburgh, NY following the mass.
