Obituary of Fernando Ruiz

Fernando Ruiz, of Monticello, NY went home to be with the Lord on March 1, 2018. He was 81. He was born in San Sebastian, PR on May 30, 1937 to the late Delfin Ruiz of San Sebastian, PR and America Soto of Middletown, NY. Most recently he worked for many years as a Handyman at the Avatah Israel Synagogue in Liberty, NY. Fernando lived in Orange and Sullivan Counties for most of his life (Fallsburg, Liberty, Monticello, and Middletown). Fernando's favorite scripture was Psalm 23. May he rest in peace and walk eternally with his creator. He is survived by a son, Elias Ruiz of Liberty, NY; a brother-Tomas Ruiz, of Orlando, FL; and a sister-Carmen Rita Rodriguez, of Middletown, NY. He was also survived by 2 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Fernando was also predeceased by his wife, Iraida Ruiz; 3 brothers and 1 sister: William Saturnino Ruiz-Soto, Angel Ruiz-Soto, Gilberto Ruiz, Sr., and Carmen Lydia Barbosa. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4pm on Saturday, March 10th at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 55 St. John Street, Monticello, NY 12701. A funeral service will be held at 3:30 at the funeral home.
