Obituary of Jay H Purgold

Jay Purgold of Ferndale passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 83.

He was the son of the late Homer Purgold and Valerie Walsh and step father Harry Bracken, born on December 21, 1935 in Englewood, NJ.

Jay was the owner and operator of Jay Tree Service for 45 years which he started with his wife Doris in Pearl River, NY. He loved the outdoors especially fishing, hunting, gardening. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to everyone in need. He was a hardworking devoted family man that will be missed by everyone who crossed his path.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 61 years Doris, his daughters Doris Sanchez and her husband Louis, Lorraine Frazita and her husband Joe, and Kathleen O`Mally and her husband David, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, one cousin Charlotte Prusvinsky and her husband Alan and many other extended family, friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 275 South Main Street Liberty, NY 12754 from 10:00am-12:00pm. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery, White Sulfur Spring, NY.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Bethel Ambulance and all the doctor, nurses and staff at Catskill Regional medical Center for their kindness, compassion and care given to Jay.
