Obituary of Ruth Koberlein

Home: Swan Lake, New York USA Place of Birth: Kauneonga Lake, New York USA Obituary Ruth Koberlein Swan Lake, NY Ruth Koberlein, 90, of Swan Lake, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 26, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at St. Mary's Villa in Elmhurst, PA. Ruth was born on Oct. 17, 1926 on the family farm in Kauneonga Lake, NY to the late Charles and Althea (Fulton) Misner. She graduated from Liberty high School in 1943. On December 31, 1945, she married Ernest Koberlein in Narrowsburg, NY. In 1952, they moved to their farm in Swan Lake, NY. She was happily married to "Ernie" for 48 years until he passed away on July 19, 1994. She was also predeceased by their son, EO 3rd Class Charles Ernest Koberlein USN who died on October 9, 1970 in Vietnam. Two sisters, Frances Misner and Muriel Hupalo and a brother, Crawford Misner, also predeceased Ruth. She was a Gold Star Mother and worked for many years at Hillside Greenhouse in Liberty, NY. Survivors include her sister, Catherine (Stan) Lucas of Apex, NC; brother, Emerson (Ruth) Misner of Kauneonga Lake, NY; three daughters, Linda (Jay) Greenblatt of Red Hook, NY, Shirley (Albert) Fick of Springbrook Township, PA and Suzanne Filipovits of Hanover, PA; two sons, Ronald (Carolyn) Koberlein of Binghamton, NY and William Koberlein of Durham, NC; eight grandchildren, David (Polly) Greenblatt , Michelle (Jason) Gromoll, Albert Ernest and Charles Fick, Amie (Tim) Brogan,, Andrea (Charles) Hamilton, Scott (Jenny)and Tracy Filipovits and eight great-grandchildren, Samantha and Jacob Gromoll, Layla and Anabelle Brogan, Alexa and Amelia Hamilton, and Emma and Sean Filipovits. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from Noon to 2 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 3534 Route 55, Kauneonga Lake, NY. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 2 PM. Burial in the family plot in Evergreen Cemetery, Bethel, NY will follow the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Methodist Church of Kauneonga Lake, NY or to a charity of your choice.
