Michael "Pops" Artusa
Liberty, NY
Michael Artusa, 69, passed away peacefully following a courageous battle with cancer on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Eugene R. and Bette Livick Artusa, he was born on October 26, 1945 in Norwich, England.
Mike was a 20 year resident of Liberty and was employed as Housekeeping Supervisor for Granite Associates in Liberty. He was an avid Giants fan. His favorite past times were watching sports, movies and going to the Liberty Diner. He enjoyed fishing and camping, especially with his grandchildren. His generosity was evident to all who knew him. He was famous for his eggplant parmesan, which he would make and give away to everyone.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Loretta Vascello Artusa at home; son, Michael Artusa and his companion, Annie Simon, of Tuxedo, NY; daughters, Kimberly Artusa of Phoenix, AZ; Lisa Kroemer and husband Mike of New Windsor, NY, Gina DeLillo and companion, Bruce Layfield of New Windsor, NY; brothers, Gene Artusa and wife Cathy of Rockledge, FL and Peter Artusa and wife Tammy of Warwick, NY and his beloved grandchildren, Jordyn, Lexi, Michael, Maddie, Abigail and Andrew. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his faithful pets, Kramer and Tinkerbell.
Memorial funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Noon at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty, NY. Pastor Paul Ansbro will officiate.
