Home: Liberty, New York USA Place of Birth: Glens Falls, New York USA Obituary Gary L. Sawyer Liberty, NY Gary L. Sawyer, of Liberty, a retired Director of Facilities Support Services for 29 years for the Liberty Central School District entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Catskill Regional Medical Center. Gary was the son of the late Alfred and Alverta (Woodell) Sawyer and was born in Glens Falls on April 23, 1949 . He is survived by the love of his life and soul mate, Jannetta; two daughters Maureen and Kerri; brothers Richard, Robert, Kenneth (Christine), David (Cathy), and Ricky (Carol); sisters Patricia and Debbie; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his beloved pets Samantha and Riley. In addition to his parents, Gary was predeceased by his siblings Phyllis, Donald, and Jean. Gary was a graduate from Queensbury UFSD, and the Culinary Institute of America, New Haven, CT. He was most proud of his culinary skills and used those skills happily throughout his life, both in his career and home. He was very proud of his work with the Liberty Central School District where he was in charge of Building and Grounds, Cafeteria, and Transportation. Gary loved to ride his motorcycle and camping. He could be seen riding around town on his motorcycle with Riley. He loved puttering around his home after his retirement. He will be missed by all those who loved him. Gary and Jannetta would like to thank the close friends, neighbors, and family who assisted with anything from transportation to appointments and treatments, to helping out around the home. Without you, things would have been so much more difficult. They would also like to thank Dr. Kondagunta, Gary's oncologist, all the nurses from the infusion treatment center at Crystal Run Health Care, Rock Hill, the nurses and staff on the second floor, north wing Oncology Department at Orange Regional Medical Center. As per Gary's wishes, there will be no services. A memorial service will be arranged at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Gary L.
