Obituary of Lonnie J. Smith

Smith, a retired corrections officer at Woodbourne Correctional Facility, passed away on Saturday October 25, 2014 at his residence. He was 75. The son of the late Herman and Lillian Nutt Smith, he was born on September 8, 1939 in Liberty, NY. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Carol Russell Smith at home; his son, Lonnie Smith and his companion Mary Winters of Neversink, NY; his daughter, Debra Wells and her husband William of Livingston Manor, NY; his brother, Larry Smith of Roscoe, NY; five grandchildren, Lonnie Smith III, Heather Smith, Kristian Smith, Jeremy Smith and Nicole Smith and several great-grandchildren. His son, Craig Smith predeceased him. Cremation took place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY. Memorial graveside services will be held on Sunday November 1, 2014 at 11 AM at Lew Beach Cemetery.
