Obituary of Ruth Bowers

Home: White Sulphur Springs, New York USA Place of Birth: Bronx, New York USA Ruth Bowers, a longtime area resident, passed away on Monday June 17, 2913 at the Sullivan County Adult Care Center in Liberty, NY. She was 86. The daughter of the late Henry and Esther (Sewing) Becker, she was born on February 28, 1927 in the Bronx. Ruth was a Registered Nurse and she worked for many years for the late Dr. Alan Schwalb and then she retired from Sullivan County Adult Care Center. She was an active member of the White Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the choir. Survivors include her husband, Douglas Bowers at home; sons, Bruce Rosencranse of Youngsville, NY and Lee Rosencranse and his wife Lori of Cooks Falls, NY; a stepdaughter, Donna Thomas of Liberty, NY; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by her first husband, Loren Rosencranse Sr.; her son, Loren Rosencranse Jr. and her sister, Lynn Sanborn. Visiting hours will be today, Wednesday June 19 from 7 - 9 PM at Ramsay's Funeral Home, 275 S. Main St. Liberty, NY. Funeral services will be held at White Sulphur springs United Methodist Church, Rt 52, White sulphur Springs, NY on Thursday June 20 at 11 AM with Rev. Bridgette LeConey officiating. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY and Ruth's ashes will be interred at Laurel Hill Cemetery in White Sulphur Springs, NY at a future date.
