Obituary of Fred Edwards

Home: Liberty, New York USA Place of Birth: Liberty, New York USA Obituary Fred Edwards Liberty, NY Fred "Freddie" Edwards, 66, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday May 7, 2014 with his wife of 33 years, Diane Reinshagen Edwards, by his side. Fred retired after 32 years as a NYS Corrections Officer at Napanoch. Besides his career, he was a lifelong resident of Liberty with dedicated service to the community as an active 47-year Volunteer Fireman with Liberty Hose & Truck #2, serving as Commissioner, Lieutenant and Trustee. He was also an active member of the Fraternal Order of Free Masons, Mongaup Lodge #521 of Liberty, Liberty Elks Lodge #1545, Hudson Valley Fireman and Red Vest Associations. He also was a member of Hunter Road Hunting Club. Freddie's true passions were his life with Diane, his family, fishing, hunting and spending time with his pal Laker. In addition to his wife, Diane at home, he is survived by his brother-in-law, Don Reinshagen and his daughter Heather of Fishs Eddy; his brothers, Harry Edwards and his wife Barbara and Frank Edwards, all of Liberty; his sisters, Patricia Edwards of Florida and Mariann Norris of Monticello. Part of his true family were his many, many special and dear friends who know who they are. Firematic and Memorial Services will take place on Tuesday, May 13 at 2PM at the Liberty Fire House, 256 Sprague Ave. Liberty, NY.
