Obituary of Patricia McGill
Please share a memory of Patricia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Patricia McGill, 82, of the SullivanArc Woodridge Residence, NY passed peacefully in her sleep at home on the morning of Sunday, February 4th. Born on August 12, 1935, to John Wilbur McGill and Rita Roy.
Patty will be remembered for her easy smile and boisterous laugh. She was a lover of the beach, her coffee and animals, especially dogs, and she had a fascination with horror movies, most notably the "Chucky" movies. She would often joke with her staff just to make them smile and would many times greet you as you came into the room with an expression of how much she had missed you. Patty persevered through her various health issues and the treatments that accompanied them, but was happiest when she was able to be at home with her beloved housemates.
She is survived by her cousins Lorraine, David and Thomas Feith of California, Sharon Falco, of NY and Jean Barone, as well as many friends and devoted staff, managers and directors of her home and day program. She is predeceased by her sister.
On Behalf of Patty, the following excerpt from the poem "Afterglow" is offered, "I'd like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun; Of happy memories that I leave when life is done"
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 on Friday, February 9th at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will follow. Fr. John Lynch will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date at Long Island National Cemetery.
