John "JP" Pirnos, 67 of Woodridge, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. John was born on October 24, 1949 to Iva and John Pirnos of Woodridge, NY.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Melissa Pirnos; his granddaughter, Scarlett; his sisters, Kathy (Jay) Shapiro and Marie Gill; and his brothers, Wayne and Paul.

John was a foreman at the Town of Fallsburg Highway Department, as well as a Correctional Officer at Woodbourne Correctional Facility for 25 years, where he was a range instructor. John was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors. John was also a crossword puzzle enthusiast. He was a quiet but loving and funny man who will be greatly missed by the family he leaves behind.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 5th at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service in John’s name will follow at 1 p.m., Father William Scafidi officiating.
