Obituary of Terry LeRoy Van Aken

Terry LeRoy Van Aken, of Parksville, passed away on Thursday, April 06, 2017 at Catskill Regional Medical Center. He was 54.
He was the son of Agnes King and the late George Van Aken, born on April 7, 1962 in Middletown, NY.
Terry worked most recently as a manager for the last 10 years in Frost Valley. He was known for his great sense of humor and always joking around. He had a love of hot dogs, eagles, being a jack of all trades and was a huge fan of "The Duke", John Wayne. But above all else he was a family man and particularly loved being a grandfather.
He is survived by his mother Agnes Van Aken, of Liberty; his children William Hitchcock and his wife Tina of Alabama, Sarah Pennell and her husband Richard of Swan Lake, Daniel Graham and his wife Kelly of Parksville, Shannon Van Aken and her fiancé Devin LaValley of Cooperstown, Roxanne Mateo-Gutierrez and her husband Marcos of Parksville, Sheldon Teeple of Parksville, Ashley Van Aken and her significant other Karl Haag of Grahamsville, and Terri-Lyn Van Aken of Bronx; his grandchildren William and Jacob Pennell, Brett and Shane Graham, Marcos Mateo-Gutierrez, Fantasia Smart and James Hitchcock; his siblings Evelyn Davis, Rita Edwards and her husband Nial, Bonnie Gildersleeve, Shari Di Santo and her husband Mike and James Van Aken and his wife Loretta; as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother George "Butch" Van Aken.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 3pm on Sunday, April 9th at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
