January 3, 1964 - November 9, 2015
Lisa Marie Nekvapil, 51 of Glen Wild, NY passed peacefully in her sleep on November 9, 2015 at home after a courageous battle with lung cancer with her longtime companion and common law spouse, Brad Davidson by her side. Lisa was born on January 3, 1964 in (Queens) Elmhurst, New York to the parents of Frank E. and Sharon A. Nekvapil. Lisa grew up in Centereach, NY with her parents and loving twin brothers Frank and Edward Nekvapil. After the family moved to Wurtsboro, NY, Lisa graduated from Monticello High School and SUNY Sullivan, was a licensed real estate broker and employed as a billing coordinator and dispatcher for Mobil Medic. Lisa’s greatest accomplishment and true loves of her life were her children Richard and Krysta Hand. Lisa enjoyed life, her loving children and six wonderful grandchildren.
In the last year of Lisa’s life, she was able to enjoy time with her father, brothers and aunts with trips to Florida and the Poconos. In her final days, Lisa was with her family, her children and the men in her life who meant the world to her – her father, brothers, and Brad who supported and comforted Lisa throughout her illness.
Lisa is survived by her devoted companion Brad Davidson at home; her father Frank Nekvapil and his wife Cheryl of New Port Richie, FL; her mother Sharon Nekvapil of Wurtsboro; her children Richard and Krysta Hand; her grandchildren Trevor, Harmony, Richard, Brianna, Jaydon and Jordon; her brothers: Edward Nekvapil and his wife Toni-Ann of Greenville and Frank Nekvapil and his family of PA; niece and nephew: Alexis and Malcom; Aunts Francine and Lorraine Nekvapil of Tampa, FL; as well as a host of friends.
A private gathering was held at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home in Woodbourne, NY for her close family to extend their love and say good-bye. Lisa will always be loved and never forgotten by her family and friends.
Per Lisa’s wishes, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 12:15pm at Church of St. Joseph, 180 Sullivan Street, Wurtsboro, NY 12790.
