Hi Patrick, this of year is always hard. I’m gonna go visit you again soon, I miss you a lot. I hope you know you’re still very loved and not forgotten. Miss you, friend.
Thinking about Patrick today, and how he pushed me to be a better writer. I didn't connect with him much outside of the Grinnell writing scene, but I always felt we were very similar. His confidence is always what got me. Sad I won't be reading more of his work.
Our hearts go out to Patrick and his family, please know you are all in our prayers and thoughts daily.
His intelligence and love for basketball were always admired, his generosity was never overlooked and his kindness and patience were always appreciated. He was always there to listen and not judge, but rather comfort and reassure. Patrick will always be a member of our Ripp family and will never be forgotten <3.

My heart goes out to you at this saddest of times. I worked (now retired) in the financial aid office at Grinnell College while Patrick was a student worker. So enjoyed him and his sense of humor. We got along quite well and missed him when he took leave. Please accept my condolences and know he did brighten my day the days he was in the office.
