Joseph "Joe" Inghrim of Neversink, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2020 at Catskill Regional Medical Center after a long illness.
Joe was born at home in South Fallsburg to the late Harold Inghrim and Mildred Gibson Inghrim on April 12, 1940. He married Mary McGuire on October 15, 1960 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Woodbourne, NY.
Survivors include his wife, Mary McGuire Inghrim; two daughters, Virginia "Ginny" Bischert and her husband Richard "Rich" of Delaware, Ohio, Susan "Sue" Pennell of Grahamsville; four grandchildren Jessica Brown and her husband Jacob of Marengo, Ohio, Josh Bischert and his girlfriend, Rachel Aller of Delaware, Ohio, Faith Bischert of Mansfield, Ohio and Brittany Pennell of Grahamsville; two great-grandsons, Levi and Benjamin Brown; great-granddaughter, Tessa Brown all of Marengo, Ohio. A brother, Nile Inghrim and his wife, Pat of Monticello;Lea Ann Conklin and her husband Max of Port Jervis; and sister-in-law, Ellen Inghrim of Hellerton, PA; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins. Joe is predeceased by his younger brother, Edward "Ed".
Joe graduated from Fallsburg Central School. In the 60's he worked with his dad at the Laurel's Country Club in Sackett Lake, Monticello during the heyday of the Sullivan County hotels. When his father died in 1970, Joe went to work as a laborer for the New York State Department of Transportation in Monticello and worked his way up to Highway Maintenance Supervisor. Joe retired in 1996.
For years Joe and Mary worked as a team couple for Catskill Area Marriage Encounter. Joe was a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in Woodbourne. He served as an usher, on the Maintenance Committee and on the Parish Council for many years. he represented Immaculate Conception Church by serving on the Sullivan County Vicariate Council of Catholic Churches with his wife, Mary.
He volunteered in many ways at the Time and the Valleys Museum in Grahamsville and served on their Board of Trustees; being involved when it operated out of the Neversink Town Hall.
We would like to thank The Care Center at Sunset Lake (Adult Care Center) for their care of Joe while he was in the nursing home this past year. Also, thank Unity Ambulette for their caring staff transporting Joe for his medical appointments. We would like to thank Dr. Thomas Eanelli, Dr. Alan Schaffer, Dr. Tal Ronen, Dr. Viral Sheth, Dr. Alex Gershenhorn, Dr. Christian Bowers, Dr. Gregory Lovallo and Renee Hook, FNP, and the medical staff at Catskill Regional Medical Center for taking such great care of Joe with his many medical issues over the years.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 6pm on Friday, February 21, 2020 at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 10am at Immaculate Conception Church, 6317 State Route 42, Woodbourne, NY 12788. Fr. Peter Chepaitis will officiate. Burial will follow immediately at Grahamsville Rural Cemetery.
