Richard Wagenhofer
September 6, 1935 – September 12, 2020
Loch Sheldrake, NY
Richard Wagenhofer passed away peacefully on Saturday September 12th, 2020 at Garnet Health Medical Center. He was 85 years old.
Richard was born on September 6th, 1935 in the Bronx N.Y. to the late Hermann Wagenhofer and Rachel Mount Wagenhofer.
Richard moved to Loch Sheldrake N.Y. in 2000 and quickly enjoyed the quiet, peaceful surroundings offered here. He was loved by all those who knew him. Richard had a mischievous, playful nature about him that kept those around him on their toes. He was an active, spritely gentleman for most of his life who enjoyed staying active. Fiercely loyal, he was an avid Jets fan and loved to cuddle up with a warm blanket and watch their games, even when they lost. Richard was also well known for his love of cake, all things chocolate, traditional country music and old-fashioned westerns, especially those starring John Wayne.
Richard is described by those around him as friendly but quiet, kind but impish, and easy-going but lively. He possessed a strong sense of determination and passionately pursued anything he set his mind to. His presence, spirit and spritely nature will be greatly missed by all of those who were honored to know him.
Richard is predeceased by his brother, Hermann J. Wagenhofer Jr. He is survived by his sister, Estelle Nesbitt of Connecticut, his brother Paul Wagenhofer of Manhattan, N.Y., several nieces and nephews and a loving extended family at New Hope Community.
