Bertha Lee Freeman of Kiamesha Lake passed away on September 30, 2020 at Garnet Health Medical Center. She was 86.
She was the daughter of the late Rev. Walter Sullivan and Lessie Mae King, born on April 18, 1934 in Evans Georgia.
She was a Peace Officer for many years at CUNY. She loved her family and always made her home a warm and welcoming place for all to come and visit. She will be deeply missed by everyone that knew and loved her.
She is survived by her sister Doris Garnett.(Augusta, Ga) her brothers Charles Sullivan (Augusta, Ga) and Sylvester Sullivan (Savanah, Ga.) her children Willie, Charlotte, Charles, Elaine, Michael, Carl, Joseph, and Patricia. 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is predeceased by both parents. Her sisters Louise Sullivan and Marguerite Sullivan. Her brothers Walter, Thomas, George, Nathaniel, Joseph, and James. Her son James and daughter Mariah.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 9, 2020 from 10-11:00am and 4-5:00pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52 Woodbourne, NY 12788. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Bronx Christian Charismatic Prayer Fellowship 3370 3rd Avenue, Bronx, NY 10456 at 10:00am. Interment will be at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Social distancing guidelines set forth by the New York State Department of Health will be in place; masks must be worn at all times.
