Rev. Dr. Eileen Ollstein Slater, BA, MS, DD

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Eileen resided in Commack, NY. with her husband. After his death in 1997, Eileen lived in Montclair, NJ. For the last 20 years, Eileen resided in Woodbourne, NY. She studied at Long Island University. Her BA and MA were in speech therapy and audiology and she worked for the Helen Keller Institute with the patients there. Eileen is predeceased by her husband, Arthur Slater, and is survived by her sister Cathy Deckert, nephews Chad and Marc Deckert, her half-brothers Matthew and Kenneth and step-sister Anne Elliot. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Constance Slater, her children Leslie, Wendy and Russell Weinberg and their children, Alex, Andrew, Jeffrey Weinberg and Jesse Freeman.
Eileen was very active in the community and treasured by the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop and the Fallsburg Seniors. She is remembered for her Spiritual Counseling and Channeled Readings. Eileen was a Master of Reiki and Integrated Energy Therapy. She was an active contributor to the Broadway Cares Equity Fights Aids, The Manhattan School of Music, the World Wildlife Foundation and was past president of the South Fallsburg Seniors.
Eileen was a very spiritual lady who did not mince words. Her honesty, her humor and her generosity will be sorely missed by many. Eileen was a long-time active member of the Fallsburg Seniors and the Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop – both organizations will remember Eileen for her startling intellect, her devotion to her friends and her liberality.
At her request, arrangements and cremation were performed by Colonial Bryant Funeral Home.
