Obituary of Raul Y Sanchez

Raul Sanchez, 44, born on August 13, 1976 in Hato Ray, Puerto Rico. He was a resident of Monticello, NY since 2004. He worked as the Head Mechanic at the Monticello Central School District. He also worked for many Summers for the Krasna Camp for the Hasidic Jews as their mechanic and driver. He was passionate about his work.
Raul was a hardworking, dedicated man who loved music, playing the congas, sports, playing softball and golf, bike riding, boating, traveling, acting, cooking, baking and fixing anything he could put his hands on. You could say he was a man with many talents. He was extremely helpful and would give the shirt off his back if anyone needed it. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, cousin, and friend.
Raul is survived by his wife, Elba Diaz. They were married on June 13th, 1997 and were married for 23 beautiful years. He became a father in 1999 to his eldest daughter, Genesis Sanchez and then again in 2011 to his youngest, Abigail Sanchez. They had pets who he loved so much, their dogs Cala and Logan and their bunny, Oreo. He devoted his life to his family, a true provider, and head of house.
He is also survived by his parents, Raul Sanchez Sr and Maria Hernandez. His brother, Yafet Sanchez, his nephew and niece, Yamir Sanchez and Alondra Rosario, his aunt Migda Hernandez, his cousins Migda Hunter and Alan Hunter. As well as many other aunts, uncles and cousins in the Sanchez/Hernandez family.
He leaves behind friends who became family, Tony Ferrer, Al Russell, Thomas Negron, Luis De La Cruz, Eric Martinez and their families along with many other friends and coworkers.
His infections smile, laugh, heart of gold, generosity, and abundant love will be missed the most. All those who love him will yearn for the day we will see him again. This is not goodbye, this is a see you later.
Memorial visitation will be on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home 55 St. Johns Street, Monticello, NY 12701, from 2-5:00pm. Guidelines set forth by the State of New York will be followed, masks and social distancing are required at all times.
