Obituary of Peter L. Simkins

Peter L. Simkins, of Yulan, passed away on May 19, 2021.  He was 65 years old.

Peter was born on May 28, 1955 in New York City, NY to Seymour Simkins and Sally Schuster Simkins.  

Peter was a man of few words, but he could get his point across very well.  He had a great personality and was a real comedian.  He enjoyed a good meal, as eating was his very favorite pastime. His favorite meals included hamburgers, fried chicken, shrimp, salmon burgers, and most especially BBQ. Peter enjoyed attending the Day Program at Cimarron, and he loved watching movies and TV shows, especially Westerns.  He also had a passion for tools and amassed a small collection for himself.

Peter leaves behind his extended family at Crystal Run Village. His guardian, Gail, would like to express her gratitude from the bottom of her heart to the girls who took care of Peter on a daily basis and contributed to his quality of life. Peter is predeceased by his parents, Seymour and Sally Simkins, and his brother Daniel.  

A visitation will take place from 11-12 pm on Monday, May 24th, at Colonial Ramsay Funeral Home, 55 St. John Street, Monticello, with a funeral service at noon at the funeral home.  Burial will take place immediately following the service at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Glendale, NY. Social distancing guidelines set forth by the New York State Department of Health will be in place; masks must be worn at all times.
