Obituary of Arnold Mela

Arnold Mela of South Fallsburg from the Arc Greater Hudson Valley, NY Alport Residence passed away on the evening of Saturday, July 10, 2021 at home. He was 70. He was born on January 21, 1950 to Arnold Mela and Maria Zangondine in Manhattan, NY. Arnold had a passion and love for puzzles, calendars and roller coasters, in particular those that went upside down. Arnold never missed a beat showing his staff and visitors of his pictures of him at Dorney Park and Great Adventure. Though he was not able to speak in the traditional manner, he spoke volumes with his eyes and smile and was very fond of the ladies. Arnold leaves behind many friends from his home and day program. His ARC family and his CAB representative will sorely miss him. Visitation will be at the Colonial Memorial Funeral Home at 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne NY 12788 on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 12-1:00pm with services to follow immediately at 1:00m. Rev. Walter Haff will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodbourne Cemetery. On behalf of Arnold, the following excerpt from the poem "I'm Free" is offered. "If my parting has left a void, then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, oh yes, these things I too will miss."
