Obituary of Emmagene Travis

Emmagene Travis, of Liberty, NY passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021. She was 99 years old. Emmagene was born on October 14, 1921 in Swan Lake, NY to Leslie Sherwood and Eva Norris Sherwood. She served her community as the Liberty Village Clerk for many years and worked alongside her husband, Howard Travis. Together, they raised two children, Howard, Jr. and Kathryn. Emmagene was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church in Liberty, where she held many offices over the years and served in various capacities. She lived a long, blessed life, and she will be missed by her family and church community. Emmagene is survived by her son, Howard Travis, Jr., her daughter Kathryn Booth and her husband, James, and her daughter-in-law, Anne Travis; her grandchildren Walter Travis, Teresa Travis, Angela Booth-Siegel, and Lindsay Booth; her great-grandchildren, Larissa Travis, Damian Travis, Hailie Travis, Maggie Travis, Ava Siegel, and Sophia Siegel; and her great-great-grandchildren, Addylin Travis, Adrianna Travis, and Amari Travis; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her husband, Howard, two sisters, and one brother. A funeral service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Liberty, NY on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 4 pm, followed by interment at the Liberty Cemetery.
