Obituary of Daniel Preston Oles
Please share a memory of Daniel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Daniel Preston Oles, 66, passed away on October 4, 2021 at Garnet Health Medical Center Catskill-Harris Campus. He was born on May 30, 1955 in Middletown, NY to Louise G. and Preston A. Oles. He was a dear, gentle soul who resided with his "best buddies" at the Ferndale Loomis Residence in Liberty, NY.
Daniel is survived by his brother, Patrick Oles and his wife Beverly of Westtown, NY; his nephew Bradford Oles of Harris, NY; and niece Jennifer Oles and her fiancé Scott Lovejoy of Carlisle, PA; his cousins Jean Ann Lamando and her husband Frank, Michelle McDonald and her husband Doug; and numerous second and third cousins in the U.S. and France. He is predeceased by his parents, Preston and Louise Oles, his paternal and maternal grandparents, as well as his aunts and uncles. Danny shared his life with many residents and staff of ARC Greater Hudson Valley, as well as those who attended and staff who were employed at ARC's South Fallsburg Day Program. The staff and friends were truly a second family to Danny, and we know he treasured each of them.
Danny enjoyed his "walk abouts" and loved thumbing through his magazines. You knew when Danny was happy, as he had the same glint in his eyes as his father before him. He shall be remembered for his one-of-a-kind mischievous smile and his "hands on head" sleeping position.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to ARC Greater Hudson Valley, 162 E. Broadway, Monticello, NY 12788.
