Obituary of Marcos Lopez

Marcos Lopez, of Monticello, NY, passed away on February 3, 2022.  He was 52 years old.

Marcos was born on May 10, 1969 in Liberty, NY to Vicente Lopez and Luz Sanchez. By profession, he was self-employed in the construction industry as a painter. He was a talented artist who loved to draw.  An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed camping, fishing, ATV motocross, and loved watching sunsets.  He also enjoyed music, cooking, and spending time with his family.  

Marcos is survived by his parents, Vicente and Luz Lopez; his wife, Kimberly Smith Lopez; his children, Cheyenne Smith, Robert Smith, and Marco Lopez; his siblings, Melva Lopez, Ilona Wells, Gabriel Guerra, Noel Lopez, Jaime Lopez, Alvin Lopez, Diana Ruiz, and several niecies, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his brother, Ivan Guerra and his mother and father-in-law, Robert and Lillian Smith; and his brother-in-law, Fred Taggart. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. 

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm with a funeral service at 8:30 pm, at Colonial Ramsay Funeral Home, 55 Saint John Street, Monticello, NY.  Social distancing guidelines set forth by the New York State Department of Health will be in place; masks must be worn at all times.
