Obituary of Florence M Fontana
Please share a memory of Florence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
On February 11th, 2022 Florence Marie Fontana peacefully crossed over to the other side, and is now amongst the squirrels! She was 75.
Florence was born February 12th, 1946 to Antonio Carl Fontana and Ann Julia Perry in Brooklyn NY, and as a teenager moved to Swan Lake NY. She lived in various places, most notoriously California, but always ended up back in Sullivan County. Florence spent her life as a free spirited spitfire who loved bikes (and bikers!), the hippie lifestyle, adventures, a doobie or clipper and most importantly her children and grandchildren.
Florence's legacy shall live on through her countless tales of her escapades at Woodstock, her colorful OG hippie life, her over the top Italian persona, endless stories of her adventures and life.
In life, her motto was always "Go with the Flo" and that is exactly how she lived her life, even right up until the end. Her carefree, simple and often reckless ways helped make her life so unique.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sister Margie, brother Mario, daughter Monique McLaughlin, daughter Catherine Osborn, Son William Soule and his wife Miriam as well as her seven grandchildren: Thomas, Johah, Mckayla, Isabella, Leland, Cecilia and Alexander.
She always said, when she dies she is going to come back as a squirrel - so watch your bird feeders!
