Obituary of Dennis Fernbach
Dennis was born in Buffalo, New York to the late Dr. Paul and Eleonor Fernbach, the oldest of four siblings. He leaves his wife JoEllen Fernbach of over fifty years, his son Peter and granddaughter Iris of Glens Falls New York and two sisters Catherine Fernbach and Mary Jo Veling of Massachusetts. Nephews Michael Veling and Aaron Kingson and niece Johanna Kingson. He is predeceased by his sister Joan Fernbach Kingson. He enjoyed spending his summers in a Canadian camp and in the Adirondacks. He graduated from Canisius High School in 1965 and Alfred University in 1969.
He served in the military in Germany and went on to receive a master’s in business from the University of Toledo. He worked for Ryder Truck and Syms Department Store in Williamsville New York. He retired and moved with his wife to her family farm in the Catskills. He was a gentle, kind man who loved to read, to spend time with his family, and to tend to his beloved cats.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in the spring. In lieu of flowers donations in Dennis' name can be made to Sullivan County SPCA Rock Hill New York.
