Tom was always so cheerful and friendly. He was one of my most favorite customers.
What a huge loss to society. RIP kind sir.
Prayers to the Family.

Tom was just the best guy ever. He was so kind. If he wasn't doing a good deed for someone; you might see him picking up garbage along South Hill Rd so it would look better for everyone. Or he'd have the weedwhacker out trimming away. I'm certain that the old-timers would have meant Tom when they spoke about "a good soul" because he surely was. Cousin Carol

"Tommy" was the best of Tri-Valley Class of '54. He had the greatest sense of humor, a kind way and the best disposition. We rode the same school bus for many years, attended the same dances and played in the same band. I'll miss knowing he's not out and about doing his good deeds. No one is aware of all the unsung things he did for so many people in Grahamsville. My sincere condolences to his family and many friends. RIP my good man.

So I want to take the time and give condolences to my family upstate.
Kyle( Mary's husband)and Lance's dad Tom passed away yesterday morning. YOU probably you all know that but I wanted to go ahead and take a moment to say how much he was really appreciated by ME and my family and to all who had the chance to know Tom and witness a shining example of what the true meaning of love, giving, compassion and positive servitude really is.
Tom was literally, literally and literally the nicest man I had ever met in my life. He had the most gentle light that flowed around him. An aura of good will, honesty and of Incredible intellegence
which was instantly contagious upon his arrival, no matter where it was.
In my years knowing him I never once heard a cross phrase out of his mouth. Not one. And conjoined with my side of the family and our over expressive tendencies I deemed that impossible years ago, but I shouldn't have counted Tom out.
Tom was a veteran. If I may disclose they tried to reject from the military due to a little piece of something that was supposed to protect his heart. Rib cage not being there I think. He met all requirements hands down aside from a completely exposed heart and he made it. He pursued until he succeeded. His children and grandchildren inherited so much from him. I think of Julianna Smith and her indifference to her vision . It is what it is and moves forward to overcome.
Tom was the Giver. More times than not and sometimes at huge expense to himself, whatever "IT" was he it would simply stand back, assess for 3 minutes and "it" would be taken care of. Resolved..Done.
For instance....
ONE of the huge parties one Summer. Anyone who has been to one of our parties knows damn well you cannot go without Sanitation not even for 49 seconds. Well the water went off everyone did their best to figure out the problem and of course Kyle figured it out and said we need a new pump.
Now I believe this was on a Sunday so everyone shuffled trying to find someone who had a pump on a Sunday.
When NO ONE DID of course. Just about that time while everyone was standing in their separate Huddle's about the property trying to figure what to do or just what to drink next, Tom arrives just kind of rolls into the conversations. He says like he always does, what's Happening?
Well 12 people answered at once.. Tom, not even tempted realize how dumbfounded and confused we were when he replied "Oh that's EASY, hold on".
He sauntered out aross the little road and ambled back in possession of a deep well water pump..
I pride myself in desperate times FOR PROBLEM SOLVING.. but NOT ON THIS NIGHT!!!!
I BOWED TO THE MASTER ONLY TO LAND ON MY KNEES IN FRONT OF HIM I WHEN MY LEGS WENT OUT. A well pump? pump in his car. ?? WHO DOES THAT? I WAS FOREVER HUMBLED. To this day we laugh about that talk about Johnny on the spot? I could not have even come close to pulling that one off. Commander preparedness for anything that's for sure.
Tom was always bringing something over. He supported the local bakeries by buying them out every week only to drive his car around and drop them at various places to people who always always enjoyed it and would otherwise probably not have it on the table. He was at the holistic nature didn't believe much in modern medicine. He was always bringing my father different things to help his various ailments. One day my father I was having trouble oh, well let's just say he wasn't moving. My father grabbed what he thought was a bottle of that liquid that blows a volcano through your system. I was there and while I was leaving pop said I'm going to take this. I said okay pops. Well it turns out he had grabbed the bottle of Tom's tea tree oil well let's just say pops almost went to sleep with the fishes that night but it was the thought that counted LOL.
I would like to take time to thank Tom for his attention to my family especially to my mother. It will forever be valued and appreciated.Tom was a very close friend. I remember he used to sit and talk to my mother even when she could barely hear a word, HE was patient, kind. she's very much enjoyed their pleasant conversations. She appreciated him as a friend and human being.
I say enjoy a short rest Tom because the universe will be calling on you again soon and in no time you will be sharing your spirit with us once again.
Rest easy Sir Thomas.
