Allen W. VanLoan, Jr. of Kiamesha Lake, NY, passed away on August 29, 2022 at Mount Sinai Hospital. He was 63.
He was the son of the late Allen W. and Carol V. (Lewis) VanLoan, born on November 6, 1958 in Livingston Manor, NY.
Allen worked as a truck driver at the end of his career but for the majority of his career he drove a garbage truck. He loved his tools and working on cars and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and cooking. But above all else he loved his family and a special passion for his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Jane Ross; his children Rena Decker (William “Bill”), Kimberly Rodriguez (Angel), Allen “Herbie” VanLoan, Charlene Ross and Robin Young; grandchildren Anthony Mitchell (Miranda Stickel), William Decker, Jr. (Tavia Heintz), Allen Decker (Aliana Gonzalez), Tiffany Decker (Anthony Marcano), Isiah Rodriguez, Joshua Rodrigez, David Rosario, Elizabeth Quinonez; great-grandchildren Anthony, Eli, Axel, Riley, Remi, Lilli, Summer, Tatianna, Catalina; siblings Robert VanLoan (Sophia), Daniel VanLoan (Vickie), Edwin Lewis, Annie VanLoan and Richard VanLoan (Jean); as well as several nieces and nephews and in particular his special niece Pricella Jones. He is predeceased by his son William VanLoan and sister Debra Lewis.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Colonial-Ramsay Funeral Home, 55 St. John Street, Monticello, NY 12701. A graveside service will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at 11am.
