Charles Weiner, 83, known as a loving, dedicated husband and father, preeminent Borscht Belt chef, and longtime vocal leader in the Mountaindale volunteer fire service.
On December 8, 2022 Mr. Charles L. Weiner died at the age of 83.
Charles is survived by his wife Marcia; their children Rabbi Tzvi Karp, Rabbi Chananel Weiner, Monica Weiner, Ian Weiner, 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and his brother, Martin Weiner (Helaine and Family).
Charles was born on August 24, 1939 and lived in Mountaindale, NY his entire life. He was a leader in the Mountaindale Fire Company and was recently recognized with the Lifetime Achievement Award for over 60 years of active service to the community.
Charles was best known for being an Executive Chef par excellence, best known for his signature dish, sugar cured corned beef, and catered for thousands over an illustrious career spanning 70 years.
According to Charles, his greatest success in life was his family, for whom he cared deeply and dearly, especially his wife of 49 years, Marcia.
Funeral service with firematic service for Charles is scheduled for Sunday, December 11, 2022 at 1 pm at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 New York State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788, followed by escort and graveside burial ceremony with military honors at Congregation B’Nai Israel Cemetery in Glen Wild. Shiva will follow at the Mountaindale Firehouse, Main Street Mountaindale, NY.
