Obituary of Bridget Hinkle

Bridget Hinkle, of Liberty, NY passed away on December 10, 2022. She was 83.
She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary (Crosson) McPhillips, born on February 22, 1939 in Ireland.
Bridget came to this country when she was a young woman, she was working as a Nanny in Manhattan when she met her husband with whom she would spend the next 52 years. Bridget loved her family; she was so very proud to be a Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She also loved Bingo, tea, and Irish and English shows on television, she loved flowers, and she had many plants, she had quite the green thumb, she was famous for cooking and baking. Bridget was one of seven children she often lamented that she was the last of her siblings. Bridget had many nieces and nephews here and in Ireland with whom she kept in contact. Bridget had two Boston Terriers Callie and Trouble who were her constant companions. Bridget moved from Queens, NY to Liberty, NY in 1998. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary where she was the Chaplain. She was also a member of the American Legion POST 109 Ladies Auxiliary.
Bridget is survived by her four children: Brian Hinkle and his wife Jacqueline Hinkle, Kenneth Hinkle and Michael Hinkle and his wife Patricia Hinkle and daughter Sharon Depew. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. she will be deeply missed by all. She is predeceased by her husband Ronald W. Hinkle and one grandson Zachary.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 6pm on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Colonial Memorial Funeral Home, 396 State Route 52, Woodbourne, NY 12788. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10am on Saturday, December 17th. Burial to follow at Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Sunset Lake Rd., Liberty, NY 12754.
