Johnny, you were only a few months younger than me. I really didn’t get to know you until you moved in with us as a teenager. Your passion for rock music, bicycles, camping, Chevy Nova’s, dirt bikes and dune buggies is undeniable. You lived a full adventurous life, never slowing down as you sped onto your next adventure. As your very cautious sister I always saw you as the bravest person I knew. You helped me learn to take more risk and taught me to have more fun in life. Even though we didn’t spend much time together, I am grateful for the times that we did, as they made such awesome memories that I will cherish forever. You are missed.

Oh how much I will miss you grandpa. Although I didn’t really get to see you much you were the best grandpa any little girl could ask for if I knew anything when we were there I would have hugged you longer and told you I loved you more. It will never be the same without you but until we meet again tear up the gravel in heaven.

You are the love of my life, my best friend, the one I could always run to when I was having a bad day. I have so many great memories that I will hold dear to my heart but we still had so many more memories to make together.

My nephew John Michael Decker was a loving, kind young man and is gone way too soon. His family is heart broken and are missing him so much. I didn't get to interact very much in the last year's but I loved him. I remember when we used to to to dune buggy races all the time and had so much fun. One time, he drove his dune buggy in to a stream after a race to wash it because it was so muddy. And, monkey see, monkey do - all our other guys did the same. I will remember the fun until I see him again. ♥️

Dad you truly were the best. You were always there for your family. You taught me so much in life, how to be loving, strong and handle my own. And of course how to have fun! So many memories flooding my mind. I was lucky enough to know him his whole life. An adorable baby, happy child, adventurous teen, loving husband, father, and grandfather. Remembering times at home, at his dad's, parties, holidays, jersey shore, trip to florida to see him, dune buggy races, him working on my house and car. He lived a good life, but way too short. He will be missed, he will be remembered, he is loved - always and forever.

Dad, I really can’t believe this is real. I never in a million years thought I’d have to go through this, definitely not so soon. I love you so much. There are so many memories that I have with you. So many laughs. You were an amazing man, with a heart of gold. You cared about us kids so much, never treating me or Smiley any different from your own. You taught me so many things. The most important being what it is to be a family. I wish I could go back in time, see you one more time, hug you one more time. I’ll see you again sometime. But in the meantime, here’s a few memories.
Remember that one time we were on our way to the buggy races. Okay, there are a bunch like this. But this time specifically a cup flew into the cab and hit me in the head.
How about the time you got the go-cart running for me. It had been the first time in a long time that it was running again. After your normal spiel, what to do if the thing rolled, you know hands on the wheel… you jumped on the back of it and I didn’t realize but went up the huge hill in the front yard. I thought I was a goner, you jumped off the back of it as it was straight in the air.
You brought so much love to my heart, a piece of me is missing. Actually a huge piece of us all. I would do anything to hear your laugh again. To see you smile.
I will forever remember all the water fights and cheese fights. I will remember the camping trips. The buggy races. Most of all, I’ll remember helping you in the garage. Well, maybe not helping so much as watching. But those are my favorite memories.
Fly high, dad. Tear up heaven on all the toys you can get your hands on. We’ll be patiently waiting until it’s our turn and we can see you again. I love you to the moon and back. Forever and always.
